Alice Edith Taylor Walker Carter, 92, departed this life during her sleep on July 24, 2018 at Carroll Manor Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Washington, DC. She was born August 22, 1925 in Warrenton, Virginia, to the late Joseph and Rosa Fitzhugh Taylor. She was the seventh of ten children, all of whom preceded her in death. She also was preceded in death by two husbands: Charles Walker and James Carter respectively.
Alice spent her early years in Warrenton and completed her education at Rosenwald School. For many years she worked as a press operator at Fauquier Laundry. During her latter years she was employed in Washington, DC as a domestic worker until retirement.
Alice loved spending time with family and looking at her many volumes of family photos. She enjoyed reading the scriptures and serving at her church. She was a member of Holy Temple Church of the Lord Jesus Christ in Washington, DC, where she attended faithfully until her health declined.
To cherish her memory, she leaves a special friend and companion, Thomas Moore; a devoted niece, Deborah Reynolds; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, August 1, 2018, 12 PM, at Warrenton Cemetery. Rev. Phillip Lewis will officiate.

Celebrating the life of Alice Edith Carter
Thank you for signing Alice Edith Carter's Guestbook
To the family and friends of the deceased,
Please accept my sincere condolences for your loss. Many have found true comfort from the pages of God's word the Bible (2 Corinthians 1:3-5}. The Bible tells us why we die (Genesis 2:16, 17; Romans 5:12) the condition of the dead (Ecclesiastes 9:5) and that we can be reunited with our loved ones (Acts 24:15). The Bible also tells us where this happy event will take place (Psalm 37:29; 115:16). The promise from the GOD of the Bible (Psalm 83:18) found at Revelation 21:3, 4 gives us the assurance that death will be no more. At John 17:3 Jesus tells us the benefit of reading and studying the Bible. He also said at John 8:32 “and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free". Please visit JW.org to learn what the Bible really teaches.

Dear family members I would like to offer my deepest sympathy. I know how hard it is losing a love one because like yourself I lost love ones as well. Isaiah 25 8 Says He will actually swallow up death forever. Which is comforting to know. For more information about hope for the dead love ones please go to www.jw.org. Take care and have a nice day. And once again you have my deepest sympathy. Love Elton.
