Almus Everett Smith



Almus Everett Smith, "Sonny," 87, of Warrenton, Virginia, passed on April 14, 2018, at Fauquier Health Rehabilitation & Nursing Center, Warrenton, Virginia.

He was born on August 21, 1930, and was a U.S. Army veteran who served during the Korean War.

Almus is survived by his wife, Millie Smith of Warrenton, VA; seven daughters: Kasandra Campbell, Alma (Ronald) Rector, Shirley Jackson all of Warrenton, VA, Peggy (Perry) Dodd of Manassas, VA, Deborah (Ellis) Dyson of Upper Marlboro, MD, Mable (Ronnie) Settle of Brandy Station, VA, Liza (John) Ferguson of Bealeton, VA; five sons: Almus Barbour and Earl Barbour both of Culpeper, VA; David Jackson, Bryan Jackson, Andy Barbour all of Warrenton, VA; a nephew, Dr. Decker Tapscott, Sr. of Warrenton, VA; a niece, Cynthia Tapscott of Warrenton, VA; and a special nephew, Cameron Tapscott of Warrenton, VA; 21 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

Family will receive friends on Monday, April 23, 2018, from 10am until 11am with funeral services starting at 11am at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 33 S. Third St, Warrenton, Virginia, 20186. Rev. Lemuel Montgomery will deliver the eulogy.

Interment will be in Culpeper National Cemetery, Culpeper, Virginia.
