George Malvin Porter, Sr.

George Malvin Porter, Sr., age 84 of Port Saint Lucie, Florida, formerly of Warrenton, Virginia, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 27, 2026 at his residence in Florida.

George was born December 31, 1941 on Lovers Lane, Warrenton, Virginia to the late Braxton and Elizabeth Devine Porter.  He enlisted in the Navy from 1960 to 1966 and later was employed by RM Bartenstein Surveyors.  Furthering his career, George was employed by Avtex Fibers as a lab procurement specialist.  Ending his career with Entenmann’s as an internal engineer.

On December 31, 1999 George married Martha.  Their unity was filled with joy, and the love for family and for God. 

He is survived by his wife Martha Porter.  Sons: Jeffrey Lewis (Gloria) of Lenox, Mass., Fredrick Lewis of Washington, D.C., and George Porter, Jr. (Darlene) of Warrenton, Va. and daughter Kimberly Lewis of Alexander, Va.

Surviving respectfully, his sister Helen Champ of Midland, Virginia and his brother Anthony Shirley Porter (Helen) of Charlotte, North Carolina and a host of nieces and nephews not mentioned. -  We love you.

Grandchildren: Morgan Harvey, Joshua Moore, Jazmyne Moore, Donovan Porter, George Porter, III, Katherine McKeon, Xavier Olan Lewis, and Avery Lewis. Great-grandchildren: Josiah Crocker,Noah Harvey.  Sisters-in-law:  Orbilina Catin and Margarita DeWeese; Brother- in- Law: Nahin(Gloria) Romero; Nephews: Nahin, Jr., Eduardo and Angel Alex Romero. 

George was a devoted Christian and had a wealth of knowledge.   He was a Loving Husband, Father, Grandfather and Great-Grandfather and you shall be wholeheartedly missed.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 12, 2026, 12:00 pm, at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, 4440 Catlett Road, Calverton, VA, 20138.  Rev. Leonard S. Morton, Sr. will deliver the eulogy.
  
Interment will be in Mt. Pleasant Memorial Garden, Calverton, VA.
