Dorothy Carter Butler



Dorothy Carter Butler, 91, of Sperryville, VA and Lignum, VA, passed away peacefully, Thursday, March 23, 2017, in Fredericksburg, VA. Mrs. Butler was born in Baltimore, MD, August 5, 1925.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard H. Butler of Sperryville, her mother, Mary H. Wills Carter, her step-father, Ezra Carter, and her brother, John E. Wills. She is survived by two daughters: Nanette Butler Roberts, Lignum, VA, and Doretha H. White, Atlanta, GA: her grandchildren: Taylor and Sade' White, one son-in-law, Michael L. White, a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Margaret Estelle and Lewis S. Butler, nieces, nephews, and many, many friends.

A Homegoing service will be held Thursday, March 30, 2017, 11a.m. at Faith Christian Outreach Center, 6472 Duhollow Rd, Warrenton, VA with visitation beginning at 9:00 a.m.

Interment will be in Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery, Woodville, VA.
